TA Manual?

Does anyone know if there is a manual for TA?  I downloaded off Stardock.   If so, where can I download it or at least read it???

Thanks!!!

It should be in the folder where you installed the game.
For example: S:\spel\Stardock\GalCiv2\Twilight

Look for "TwilightManual.pdf" in there.

When you launch the game, one of the options is the manual.

Frogboy,

I had this problem too. Then I realized that a shortcut to TALaunch was never created. I was wondering where the editors were and the manual were. The only link I had was to run the game application. This could be causing confusion.

Hmm, I thought perhaps the manual just wasn't done yet, didn't realize till I saw this thread that I was supposed to have it. Perhaps I just missed a step when installing.

i get a 'could not launch Twilight manual at the expected location', then it says where it expected to find it.

Upon looking in that directory, no pdf exists. Did a search of the entire drive for TwilightManual.pdf, still nada.

Did a search for *.pdf, and no GC2 manual (neither vanilla, DA, nor Twilight) showed up. In fact, suprisingly, I only have 4 pdf's on my entire HD, one of which, manual.pdf is for Sins. Did 'switch chapter' over to DA and DL, hit the 'manual' button on both of those, and it gave the same error message (it was still looking for "TwilightManual.pdf" for both of 'em).

Button for the editors work (first 3 available, bottom 3 greyed out, tried one and it opened up fine), as do the other buttons off that menu.

Just to note, I installed via Impulse, rather than SDC.

drish311 has stated this before: The options are only available with the TA Launcher. The shortcut created with the installation is a direct link to the game executable. So if i would not have known what TALaunch is (because i know what DALaunch was) i would never have seen the editors. Only a small thing but maybe you can fix the Installation in the next update to create a launcher shortcut, not a game shortcut on the dekstop.

I've found the manual in the Twilight diretory "TwilightManual.pdf" but the manual has no info on TA at all. Has a TA cover but the content looks like the GalCiv2 Gold manual. It would be nice if the Devs can post the updated TA manual for download....

Solution:

Had no manual, it *said* I had the latest version, but after seeing other posts here regarding things other people had that I didn't (such as a manual, a campaign, etc..) I began to suspect something was wrong. Uninstalled via impulse, deleted the docs/stardock/twilight directory, reinstalled via Impulse - and this time I had an even *older* version - 1.80.something. Impulse though said I was up to date w/1.9etc.... Still no manual, and now an even less functional game.

So, I did it again, but this time w/SDC. It worked. Have the manual and everything else. This time I really have the version it says. hehe. So for anyone w/this prob who installed via Impulse, just do it again via SDC. (I also deleted that directory again before doing so).

Kind of funny, because the exact opposite worked for me w/a problem I had w/desckapes. (after updating in SDC it stopped working. uninstalling/reinstalling w/SDC did nothing. Doing it again w/Impulse, however, and problem was solved. ).
