Okay, here's the deal.  I'm sick of being condemned for my political views.  I don't care if everyone here is a republican, conservative, facist, whatever.  It's none of my business.  Furthermore, you do not have the right to label me a sinner because I believe differently than you do, or because I don't like the president of the United States.  What you are doing right now, condemming people for their politics, is an internet witch hunt.  It happened in Salem, it happened in the fifties, and it's happening now. 


The whole reason this country was founded in the first place was so that people could believe what they want to believe without being punished for it.  The Constitution of this great nation upholds this standard that the first settlers, well, set.  No one has the right to condemn a school of thought, no matter how much they disagree with it.

 

I am not stupid.  In fact, I'm probably getting better grades in my college classes than many of you got in high school.  I say this not to boast, but to defend myself against the flagrant disrespect I've been receiving.  For this reason, and this reason alone, I am not ever going to comment on another political thread unless it was written by myself, which won't happen very often.

 

I'll be the first one to admit that I don't know everything about politics, but throwing around insults and stereotypes is not the way to get someone to convert to your way of thinking, in fact, it is only going to piss them off.  I know my views and opinions, and you are not going to change them by calling me names.  Ooh, scary. 

 

I can be very amiable in nature, when I want to be, and I will be, in fun, fluffy threads.  I'm sick of defending my way of thinking to people who always have an answer for everything.  Just because you are OLD, and can remember more history than I can does not make you right.  Additionally, it is not my fault if you people write in circles so that I can't discern what was said and happen to misinterpret something.

The best part is, I'm not a democrat. I'm unaffiliated, though I lean to the left. Besides, I vote for the best candidate, no matter what party they are in. So, I'm not even complimenting myself in this article!

I think she's hitting more along the lines of unneeded slamming. Such as the past time of slandering and judging of people because they're liberal, and not getting to know them first. The condemnation because of being a liberal/democrat here, is akin to a witch hunt sometimes. There's times where personally, I really don't get people when they do it. They just pop it into their arguments for some stupid reason.

No insult intended toward you specifically. However, if you don't want opposing comments maybe you should post a disclaimer, or restrict your blog to only people that agree with you. Personally I do like to hear other opinions, and I do respect them.

I like opinions, but this was not intended as an article to begin a big political debate. That's why I deleted you. I felt like I was being antagonized, which I don't enjoy. So I did that. You seemed to be starting a debate, like you wanted to get in an argument. That's not what I wanted to start on this article.

Naw I don't like arguments (not even Col. Gene). You or any of the other posters could have felt free to or agree, disagree. I served 24 years so we all could speak our minds. You made a statement (the title) I felt you didn't substantiate your reason in the body of the text, I offered a different prospective that's all. I find most people stand by their principals and won't convert, atleast over night. Like I said no harm no fowl intended.

BTW The congrats on your good grades was most sincere - good job.
