Exit Here

Permanently

There are so many interesting rules and regulations out there that make absolutely no sense.  It makes one wonder where in the world did they get this idea from?  What were they thinking? I really would like to know who sits around and makes up this stuff.  It would be nice to put a face behind some of these laws.

Here's the latest stupid rule in a long list of many.

My husband came home after working at a car dealership all day.  The owner of this very large dealership was telling him how he was getting ready for a big auto sale.  He got one of those very large tents which he had intended to put up to block the hot Floriday sun not to mention draw attention to this sale.  Underneath he intended to line the area with a bunch of cars.

Now this tent would have no sides, only a big top.  We've seen this type of thing hundreds of times in front of businesses who wish to draw attention to their sales.

Get this!

This Owner was told by the City's Code Enforcement Officer that he was required to put up exit signs all around the sides of the tent.........even tho there were no sides!

Doesn't matter.  People have to know where the exits are located!

I'm thinking someone needs a sign to put around their neck that reads.......OUT TO LUNCH!

That rule reminds me of Les Nessman's invisible office door on WKRP in Cincinnati.  But at least it was a comedy!

What about blind people? I think the signs should be required to be posted in braille too!

Do you know why automobile fatality rates are so high? The government forgot to put signs up every 30 ft that alternate "breathe in" and "breathe out". Don't worry, though. Your tax dollars are hard at work correcting the problem.

What kills me is braille on a drive up ATM.

Oh yes, and in webpage design...if you have a website for any public organization (including public colleges), it has to meet strict rules for handicapped accessibility.
