Cap ships

I love this game it is very addictive :CONGRAT: , however I have noticed a strange thing about capital ships, I was under the impression that a single salvo from any cap ship was more than enough to blow a frigate to hell for example a tech cap ship be it a Kol or Marza should be able to single handedly blow through whole squadrons of frigates and suffer maybe some moderate damage at worst instead of duking it out for long minutes and a space craft carrier with its star fighters should be able to hold most frigates at bay, don't get me wrong, I know that a powerful lion will get the hell beat out of him by a pack of wild dogs but those dogs are going to suffer big time, in a wet navy of back in world war ll, frigates did not survive long against even a destroyer and were ass kicked from one island to the next by cruisers and battleships. The Kol and other cap ships with all those guns focused on one or two frigates or even small crusiers should be able to blast them into scrap in no time even those equipped with shields!

Am I the only one to notice this discrepancy or has this been already been addressed?

Is there a way to balance this out may be in a later patch? :d

It's the way it is for balance reasons already. If you want caps to be more powerful, you'll need to mod it.

The way I see it is that the frigates and other small ships are too fast for the primary massive guns of the battleships to lock onto, if you ever played EVE online, same thing, smaller interceptors could fly around al day draining the shields and doing damage to dreadnoughts and never getting hit because larger guns track a lot slower than smaller ones! Well that's how I like to think of it anyway! Don't forget space is 3D unlike the 2D environment of an ocean, not to mention space ships would be a lot faster than conventional ships! The graphics may only just represent the ships standing still, but in all reality the smaller ships would be running circles around the capital ships! So perhaps think of it in that way!

just change the amount of damage done for the caps weapons in the gameinfo folder. make their hull and shields stronger to. its easy to do. just download the text version of the files(forge tools) located in the download section. it even comes with a mini tutorial...

If you truly want to have caps be put to full use, use them as cores of your fleets as the TEC. Just last night i won a battle where I was outnumbered 2:1 in both ship and strike craft, but I won because of my 8 cap ships.
