Future House: First floor blue print

Greetings once again friends and family. We have the close to final blue print of "future house".

It'll take about 3 years to finish this.  We haven't designed the lowest floor (walk out basement) but we do have the second floor pretty set as well.

Hmmm.... the office entrance seems pretty close to the media room. As the kids get older (and have friends over) that might make working at home somewhat difficult.

 

In general though, the layout seems quite nice. Hard to tell looking at a 2D blueprint, but it seems like you are making an effort to "bring the outdoors in", which, IMO, goes a long way toward making a home livable.

 

What kind of roofing are you going with for the covered part of the terrace?

In our current house, my office is even closer to the TV. You can't really hear anything. I don't really work from home very much and I would just tend to kick the kids out if they were being too loud. :)
