Hosting Without PortFowarding.Discovered a fix , might work for you

Windows XP , uPnP modern Router , none portfowarded

Basically my Router supports uPnP , but I couldnt host. I dont portfoward because the router is passworded by parents.

Heres how to get it working without portfowarding.

If you have a router , that you have portfowarded but doesnt work , try this , it might work.

Yeah, found it a while ago. My ISP screwed up port fowarding, so I was forced to use this. I´m glad to say that it works really well. Anyway, thanks for sharing it with others. :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention that if you restart your router, the settings will be deleted and you need to re-enter the info. And also if you have more than one user connected to the router you need to enter the internal IP.

Inorder to get your internet gateway icon showing.

Ps - If its already selected , then turn it off ,restart ,and turn it back on again to show your gateway icon.I noticed this happened with me when my icon went missing

How do you do this in Windows Vista?


Uninstall and burn and find a windows XP cd lol

make sure uPNP is turned on in your router.

start --> network --> residential gateway: right click and click properties and then hit settings and voila.
