map editor

I was playing with the map editor and could easily put stars and planets everywhere but I was hoping that I could place the civilization start points.  is that available in the scenario editor?

In the map editor, if you right-click a planet, you can set which race owns it.

Thought I tried that but may be not. Ok I'll try again. Thanks.

Oh but say I set a star then and then assign it to Terran Alliance will it automatically set up Earth, Mars and the other planets or do I have to do it myself.

I'm still having issues in the editor with star names I've given disappearing after I name more than a dozen or so...is this a problem other people are having?

I have fixed the naming issues with Stars and Asteroid fields, (along with a few other things), in our internal build.  It'll be available in one of our next updates.

How do you start the map editor

Well, the tools are separate .exe's, and they reside in ..../GalCiv2/Twilight/Tools/.  If you'd rather not browse to that location, you can just right-click on Twilight in Stardock Central and go to "Run Application".  This will a start-up gadget that lets you either run the game, or choose which editor to run.

Oh, and btw, there's a beta update on SDC.  We just put it up a few minutes ago.

Another question with map editor.

When choosing a race say the Terrans, do I have to make the Sol system itself on the map or will it generate on its own.

The coloring of stars is off in the map editor. Yellow, stars are branded orange, purple or turned blue, red are made yellow, it's just one big mess. The colors look alright in the editor but when you go into the game with world you branded as red in the editor is a different color entirely. This is a bug the needs fix

I was refering to the Sol and star AND its planets. Can I make Jupiter, Mercury and other worlds.
