Fantastic shots teddybearcholla, and sydneysiders!  Winter has just started here in MN. So yeah, it's white, and the wind is pretty cold today. Ugh.

Getting really weird here. It's only -1.7C but with 100% humidity it feels absolutely raw.

Everything looks like it's been photographed in infra-red. All the tree branches and bushes are an eerie white.

Too damned hot to go outside my place today: official weather forecast says it's 30c, but my thermometer says it's 35c... and it'll probably go up another 3-4 degrees before sundown.

don't mind the high temps when its dry heat.....but start and throw in humidity..and I hate it....

a coupla years ago...we had a New Years Day that was 44C......but very dry...oven like....was putting bowls of water out for the birds that were lining up on the balcony with their tongues hanging out.......mind you...yesterday was 35C....and had some rainbow lorikeets drinking heaps out of an egg cup on the windowsill....

I agree....and  most of the time it was a dry heat....I remember one summer, my car had no ac, and I was driving through Phoenix at rush hour behind a *rendering truck* ...just like an oven and with rotten beef smell to boot...and Ialways carried a large bottle of water to drink...and some times it ended up being hot water, but it will still wet your whistle!!!

I think that is so kool you have birds coming to your windowsill for water...any photos? <3

You can have that all to yourself... that sort of heat would near kill me.  As it is 30c + can make me feel unwell, as it exacerbates a pre-existing condition and saps all my energy.

I blame the bankers, you know!  First off, they finance projects that contribute to greenhouse gasses/global warming: and secondly, if they hadn't hikes up interest rates so high my landlord could have afforded to put insulation up in the roof.

And that Madoff slimy piece of sh!t... >:( he deserves shooting, rooting and electrocuting... and not necessarily in that order.

Oh, and BTW!  Why is it that I get the feeling somebody around here is thinking other than a Bluetooth 'dongle'.  :w00t:

Yeah teddy, woman, where is your mind

Now I didn't go naming names... but more to the point, me thinks there's a bit of the pot calling the kettle black, here. :-" :w00t:

thanks teddy..........I used a tripod....and the camera has a fireworks setting.....does pretty well for a compact point and shoot.... it's actually getting the timing right to take the shots that's the challenge....sometimes...you miss the mega...and get lovely pics of the blank inbetweens...so...solution...is to just keep keep clicking oodles of 'em...
