Mom Has Cancer Again

Last night I got a call from my mother. She had been in to the hospital last week so they could get a biopsy of a sore place in her throat. She's had throat cancer in the past and they keep a close eye on that.

She got the results of the biopsy back yesterday and it was positive for cancer. It's back. She's not a candidate for radiation therapy again so they are going to opt for surgery and chemo. She meets with the surgeon next week. Her doctor warned her that there is a very good chance that she can expect to lose her voice boxx this time. That really sucks.

Naturally I reassured her her that everything would be just fine and that she shouldn't get upset about the voice box thing until she knows for sure, but I am really worried about her. She's been through this cancer thing twice before and I really hate to see her have to go through it yet again.

She's finally gotten over the last round of chemo and regained her strength and now whe'll have to go through the sickness of it all over again. It really does suck for her.

I feel for you and your mother and I hope all goes well. While I am not much of a praying person, I will make the effort for your mom.
