Communication Snafu

Yesterday when I spoke with the dealership they told me they had ordered the parts needed to repair my truck and expected to receive them today either at 9:00am or at noon. I called them this morning shortly after 9:00 to see if the parts had arrived and to get an idea when the truck would be ready to go.

The guy told me that the truck was finished and ready to go. Huh? What happened to not having the parts? All he would say was that it was ready for me to pick up.

Once I got there, got the paperwork, and put my crap back in the truck I called the boss. He had paid the bill yesterday afternoon when the truck was finished. WTF? I told him that I didn't know the truck had been finished up yesterday as nobody had called and told me this.

He admitted that he fucked up because he should have called me. He knew what they had told me and that I wasn't expecting it to be ready until sometime late today. Well, at least he admitted it was his fault.

So, anyway, I am now back in my truck and out of WY. Had I left out late yesterday there still would have been a slim chance of making the delivery late Friday but that's now not legally possible. I would have to break a number of laws to make that happen so it just ain't  gonna happen. I'll see them Monday. No point in getting in a hurry now.

I basically have four days to run less than a thousand miles. That's a lot of extra time on my hands. Guess I'll just take it slow and easy. I think for now I'll just go get a beer.

Don't you just love it how people don't really seem to care much about other peoples lives that they could care less if they called you and then said "oops, my bad"?

I can't go there in this case. He is a busy guy and has a lot on his plate.

Hmmm....sounds like Northrop Grumman has acquired a dealership as well. I wonder how many squirrels they put under the hood?
