You. are. the. best! :CONGRAT:

These are really helpful.  Thanks for doing them.

What does HSL mean? Googled and figured out.
"Hue, Saturation and Lightness." Thanks.
And when you picked a color, the displayed color see,ed brighter. Is that normal?

If the custom preset is set is it available to other skins? Will it be applied ot other skins if I change skins or will the skin apply normally?

Island Dog, BLESS YOU !!

This is exactly the type of tutorial needed by Newbies such as myself that aren't into skinning but just enjoy messing with the look of our boring screens.

Thank you and here's hoping you do more like this.

I think that might have been because I had the color range set before I did it.

Screencasts will be a regular feature now.  It seems people like to visually see these things in action instead of just reading an article about it.

If you, or anyone has any suggestions on screencast topics, please feel free to PM me or send an e-mail to sscott [at] stardock [dot] com.

Looks like somethin is blocking the video lantec.  Can you try IE?

I'm sure that has something to do with Firefox.  Try IE as Zubaz said, or here is the direct link.

ID: You are brilliant for doing these screencasts. I have ADHD so I am a kinetic learner. It's hard for me to read something and then try to do it. Sometimes I have to read over and over to get it!!! WOW is all I can say; I am really excited about this. Great voice and so easy to follow you.

You are a great asset to WC & SD. :CONGRAT:

On my dream/wishlist If this could be done with Skin Studio Pro (in stages of course) I may be able to actually skin something ;p

I will make screencasts to go along side the official SkinStudio 6 tutorials.  :)

It's all well and good knowing how to change a specific color now and save presets, but it doesn't help that the colorize preview doesn't actually show all the colorized sections of a skin. Take WTM for example:

As you can see, none of the actual colorized bits are showing, it's the active taskbar button that is colored. Hopefully in a future update this preview screen will be able to show all states of the taskbar buttons, so that skins with minimal coloring will have a chance for a makeover. *hint hint Neil* ;P

OK, I've gone over and over and over the screencast to change colors in WB6 and I'm obviously missing something. The color I want to chang3e is the plain white of the menu, etc. to ANYTHING else. Help please (:(

White (and black) has no color, you can't change it.
