That is not the point. It had nothing to do with "whining". What happened was that it was remoderated and was decided that it was good enough to be put back in the library.
However, I will say that I think these type of things can be handled differently. It would be nice if people would email an admin versus starting the rants on the forums. It ends up being anything but constructive.
I think that PhoeniXLegenda has learned not to delete work and re-upload. Lesson learned.
I think we can compare his all to those recently moderated and see that it is acceptable. No problem.
So, case closed. Lesson learned. Wall is where it should be. New artist can submit more walls (not saying that they will all get accepted) and will *not* delete and re-upload.
sounds like a skin condition
I think the horse is dead...............
Are they going to remoderate everything that didn't make it to the main gallery...this seems like it may create a bigger problem. Now, if somebody's stuff doesn't make the cut, they can whine and complain about it needing to be remoderated. A precedent has been set. :NOTSURE:
Either scrap the library alltogther or have stronger moderation , period. And it's the same for all, no matter what your bloody rank is on here.
No, it's not so black and white.
Let me ask this- should the moderators never listen to a complaint? Are complaints never founded? What type of place is this if we never take a step back and look at what happened and change the outcome if we made a mistake?
To me, I rather be balanced. I rather say:"Yep, that can be changed" sometimes to balance out the "Nope, that stays where it is." Otherwise, all we are doing is saying that we never look at anything with a fresh perspective.
And, what does that have to do with this? If anything, you just disproved your own point. The person that this thread is about has only been here 2 months. So, how does that pertain to your statement? How did he become a "respected" after 2 months? He's a new user. New users make mistakes.
Are you saying that we play favorites? I guess I'm not getting what you are saying here.
The point is this was in the main library. The uploader, being new to the site, mistakenly deleted the wall and reuploded it not realizing that wasn't the right thing to do. The second upload was sent to pp. It was then realised this was a moderation error and so the wall was made public again.
There is no sinister change of policy here which the conspiracy theorists will read into the situation no matter what anyone says.
People make mistakes - thankfully. It shows they are human and not machines
Nowhere am I so desperately needed as among a shipload of illogical humans.
Yep, that's *exactly* what I am saying.
This discussion has been had in the past regarding what was or was not allowed in the wallpaper gallery. I can recall instances where I've submitted walls and were declined because they were photos and thus not 'wallpaper worthy', and then when I look in the wallpaper gallery at the time , I see walls that , lo and behold , were photos. I can only conclude from this that there were, at least at the time, differing standards for what is considered postable.
Now , this isn't really a demand or anything. Stardock and the higher ups in the community run this site , they can do what they want, including what was or is acceptable for uploading to the wallpaper gallery. I'm just posting my opinion.
Do with it what you will.
The issue originally raised by the thread has been addressed. At this point nothing constructive is being discussed. Wallpaper moderation policies have been debated at length many times, with the result being that no decision will please everyone (and each option proposed seems to piss off an equal number of people).
I'm closing the thread.
