Fleet Tabs and Economy Tabs needed/Separated

So you all understand what it is I’m trying to say, the top left of your screen you have your fleet and basically the entire economy of your planets.  When you are in combat and have several fleets all over the place and own 10 or more planets the side scroll bar can get very convoluted and cluttered with everything, yes you can see your fleets by the big fleet icons in that but most of the time you need to scroll up to get to them.  What I’m proposing is that they separate the fleet management with its own scroll window. So in reality you will have 2 of them one for the economy and planet management and one for the fleet management.  This way you can see what fleets you have at a quick glance and not have to keep scrolling to the top to get to them. With a fleet tab it should minimize all of this clutter and let you manage and select your fleets very quickly once all the battles start.

Hopefully Stardock will see this and think it’s also a good idea.

You could also unpin all your unneeded planets so it's not cluttered :P I only have auto pin of capitals on, everything else I throw on manually.

Yes, you can do that but why when it would be much easier for them to just add the 2 tabs.

Not really :P

It might be easier for you, but not for the next guy, and with everyone wanting different things on the empire tree, the current system is very flexible as it is. It's very easy not to make it cluttered, if you don't want it to be :)

Annatar11, do you not understand what it is I’m recommending? Trust me the way I’m proposing it be done is perfect and simple and it separates the economy from the fleet management which makes it very simple to use. Literally one click for the fleet tab, and one click back to the planet management. This is not rocket science; this is something that will make playing the game much simpler and easier to manage your empire with. Especially when your in combat and need to see all of your fleets with out the screen scrolling to the bottom al lthe time when a change happens to one of your planets.

I understand exactly what you're asking, and I'm disagreeing with it. :P I like having them combined, because that means I can pin what I need to see, and I can quickly select a fleet and send it to a planet without having to fiddle with zooming or switching any tabs.

I never had the neet to clutter my empire tree with every planet just because, I rarely have enough pinned at any time to actually have anything scrolling. I can't really imagine a case where you'd be justified in pinning enough planets to make it very cumbersome, especially since you can keep everything tucked in until you need a specific planet expanded..

Disagree all you want, but your wrong, and I know the way I’m proposing is better. When you got a crap load of planets it makes more sense to remove planet management from fleet management. If you can’t see that then you’re either blind to the fact of just plain oblivious. Either way you apparently don’t play the game long enough to realize that this is a big hindrance the way it is currently and causing problems with managing the fleets.

I'm backing you on this one Annatar. I see what you are saying Darksxx but I like having it all in one. A trick I use is to assign my battle groups using the CTRL key and any of the numbers. Try that and you'll save yourself even the trouble of clicking it off to the side.

And just because he disagrees doesn't make him wrong. You're going to have to get used to the idea of meeting some criticism when you throw an idea out on the boards.

Like ob1 has mentioned, it would probably help you in the long run to not be so hostile here. People aren't always going to quickly jump on the bandwagon, and there's always going to be disagreement and counter-argument. I'm sorry to say, but "I'm right, you're wrong" is a poor counter-argument and it isn't going to win you any favors, and probably going to get you labeled as a troll instead and folks will just stop reading what you have to post.

Also, considering the game's beta program, I would be a little wary of trying to use game time played as a means to force the issue :P

Here's to hoping noone pays attention to your idea, just on the principle of how you've asked.

For the record I'd say this even if it was a good idea (and its not).

Here's a couple of things you can do to help manage that:

1. Minimize planets that you are not focusing on.
2. Use the pin option
3. Use the CTRL+# to assign numbers to certain fleets, planets or structures you use a lot.

I can see right now that im dealing with a bunch of nit wits. Most of you havent got half a brain to realize that this is a much needed tab. but hey dont let me hold you all back on the extra effort you all seem to like to do just to clean up the interface to do exactly what Im already sugjesting be done with a fleet managment tab.

People are lending you an ear. We read what you said. We get it. And you repay us with name-calling? We just don't like it and we've found ways around it. Try reading our suggestions and implementing them. Better yet, go the extra effort if you think your idea is so grand and take the time to convince me. I'm open to new ideas. I've just never had the problem and I'm on my second huge map.

Either do that or go away troll.
