Can't Join or Host Online

Whenever I try to join a game online it says 'Disconnected from server'. Whenever I try to host I get that error message that says 'ICO has detected that most players cannot join your game. This is usually caused by firewall/router configurations... bla bla bla'.

Nothing has worked... turning off firewall, forwarding ports, etc. Thoughts? I can't play multiplayer at all :(

Please read/implement everything in my latest guide "Networking and SINS" for a problem-free gaming/hosting experience. :)

The guide is linked-to from the "Technical FAQ" stickied in the "Technical" forum.

@ Saviger

Please contact me via xfire (the1monk) and I'll get you on my TS Server so I "talk" you through my instructions. There must be something you're missing. If you follow (implement) my instructions correctly it will work.

I am having a similar problem except that I receive no error messages, the game just freezes any time I try and host a game. Also I can't join a game because they don't show up in my screen. I have turned off the firewall, enabled upnp and practically tried every other thing I can think of. I even tried logging into ironclad online and the same thing happened. Frozen to the point where even trying to alt+tab out of the program doesn't work. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Saviger was having a different problem which has been resolved, see the following forum posting by him:

In his case the SPI firewall on his router needed to be disabled to allow everything to function correctly.

For you I would suggest to try running the game in "windowed" mode so that you can see any firewall/anti-malware pop-up window and respond to it. :)
