culture leapfrog

now most people asay culture is a total waste of time but this is not true i just pulled off sucsessfully 5 game's in a row a tactic i am now going to call the cultueal leapfrog. what it is is that you get  the broadcast center as fast as you can and start broadcastingfill all youre planets to the brim and watch youre cultuer flow now for defense you dont build a single frigate or cap or cruiser all you do is build tactical defense and when culture tackes a planet you go in and colonize it works each and every time and like this you slowly leapfrog from planet to planet my tactical defense was 2 hangars and a repair whatever it is wiuth as many canoons huddled around it as you can. So far this is the only way i think it is posible to win with just culuture and i  am warning you it is very very hard and if you get attacked by pirates it will fail if you do not have any dfenses also this whole thing is way easier with advent as they have best culture and have bigger hangars. and if you really want income make a few tradeports as well they really help but try to make massive amount of boradcast ceters as they do stack and really help ticking down a enemy's culture

Do you see that key two to the left of shift?
That is a period, and people who have graduated from elementary school use it to make it appear that they can read and write.

You know if you had a problem with it then why the hell come and comment on it. I get annoyed just as much as you do with it but WHO CARES. if you have a problem with his post then don't $&@(*$ read it.

Anyway back to the topic yes it actually works I have done it quiet a few times against my friend. I would flip colonies with it but I actually built up a fleet as well and used forewarning and acute premonitions so i could defend easier by knowing where they where moving to. had to keep a lot of scouts out to get my bang for the buck though lol.

This is a bad argument because it doesn't make the author aware of the issue, and the fact is, his massive wall of text is difficult to digest.

It's also laziness on his part - he's just written a stream of consciousness and then clicked submit.

I think to have a good forum experience, people should have a read over their posts and format them so that they're easier to read.

Not saying anything at all is probably a defeatist tactic.

Oh and I'd say that tactic is more of a "chain" than a "leapfrog" - since he's not bypassing anything but going in sequence?

:)

peace!

Well ya he is chaining his commune towers. but he means leapfrogging as in when a planet goes neutral he jumps to it and repeats the process. it effective tactic but it's a slow one because those towers are spendy which can be used for a bunch of LRM's lol

Such as i am having a hard time reading your post do you think you could paragraph it please.

instead of OMG noob write properly. your a idiot caus you cant write.

plus you don't know he may not know English very well or has a hard time writing english.

That's still not leapfrog, that is an example of a chain reaction or a chain. Leapfrog... would mean he jumps over the planet and attacks the next one? Bad analogies aside, its still not really a strategy so much as it is a description of how culture works as a weapon. Good to know though.

I don't understand the OP. I could not read the whole thing.

Definitely won't work against a human player.

Basically, he was using Culture (via the Broadcast Centers) to drop the alliegance of the next planet down the warp lane so low that the population revolts from its current owner and is now ripe for assimilation into the poster's regime. This obviously will only work against a planet that has already been claimed by another player.

One easy way to throw a wrench into this plan would be placing a cap ship at a planet about to revolt. It "calms down" the population nicely and suppresses any culture incursion until you can get your own broadcast center set up there to nullify the would-be usurper's.

His post is no worse than the sarcastic and arrogant tone of this post:

I would rather read his post than this reply ...

I don't see this working out versus human players. I've had a very hard time "winning with culture" even with all planets having 2 ToCs, and all border planets 4 (where possible logistically).

When I'm TEC or Vasari, as soon as I see culture creeping towards me I build a media hub / broadcast station or two. They repel very, very well. Fully upgraded communions CAN eventually take over (depending on how far from capital planet).

But the main reason it doesn't work against humans is the ineffectiveness of planetary defenses against a medium-sized fleet.

Even a fully maxed, 35 slot tactical planet is pretty darn easy to take with a fleet with the right mixture (defenders once they figure out you use hangars, long range ships for the defense platforms).

The best thing is to build tactical defenses on the outline of your border, and guard with a moderate fleet size. Of course, this is also useless unless you are playing a mod with a PJI fix. Humans just roll right past defensive planets.
