Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

Thanks Wombie. I gotta visit the in-laws for the next couple of days. What's your email again? If you could mind the store while I'm gone.

A slight scuffing noise draws your attention to the lock and you see a small figure scampering away.

"Wake up, you Pirates! How can I taunt you a second time if you are, um, well, doing stuff to have babies and all that? Where are your priorities? Congrats to those who deserve it and thanks for the baubles I borrowed."

And here am I thinking hobbits bred like rabb...er...hobbits ;) Do you need some assistance in this regard, DarkHobbit? Dare I say - you come to the experts...

Hi B! Long time no hear! I presume you're still using the GCCG, which is generating the anomalous scores? The 'jig' is up there, I'm afraid - a flag is raised within the game if you generate too much cash in your trading with the AIs and the score is not regarded as legal. I will refrain from offering political comment - suffice to say that you should explore other strategic options... ;) ...cheers, mate!

And Pontius - you can get me at [email protected] Enjoy the family time! Presume you're still having trouble with Yahoo? Keep slugging, pirates!

With such light traffic here as of late, it looks like we are all a bit too busy making more little pirates these days. :)

Just won my first Maso game. It was MUCH easier than I expected... I actually found it easier than the average Medium, Painful I played. Let's see how my streak continues...

The strategies posted here and other places were very helpful. I didn't have an AI even ASK for tribute throughout the entire game.

Played a tiny - diplo maxed out. Earth 19 class and this is the only game I ever played with NO colonization phase. I shared my sector with the Caranoids. I rushed them with my survey ship the same turn they got diplo translaters (picked them up first).

The Alexians and Arceans bordered my NE, the Yor to my immediate NW, and the Drendin right below to the SW. (Drendin and Altarians were set to 'Genius' - this was lucky as Altarians ended up with three planets in 2 systems).

Rushed the Alexians with two transports and the survey ship - only needed the one transport so I left it there. Picked up Aphro and a battleaxe (1 turn left).

Planned an attack on the Drendin next, Arceans got careless in the same turn - and I rushed both civs. Cleaned up by picking up a influence, 2 tech, 2 economy, and a military resource. From that point on (2181), I stayed ahead in every category except military (by choice as I was building constructors every few turns).

Throughout the game I demanded influence points along with the tech trade, by gifting single points back early in the game and monolopolizing trade - I was always at least 'Warm.'

Hopefully my luck with continue.... But if I can win at Maso anyone can.

Sorry - double post due to lag! Threadzilla needed a treat as she's obviously not feeling well. Maybe she'll feel better after tomorrow morning's procedure.

Cypher,

I won my first Tiny Maso recently. I had a great start and never really looked back. I don't really like Tiny maps, though. I tried a Huge/Crippling and it turned up anomalous. :SURPRISED:

I agree that Maso was a little easier than some of my "easier" games, but it could be I've just learned a couple of tricks.

Congrats to both of you! Having won a few now, I think the starting position of the AIs is just as critical as yours. If they get a flying start (many planets on home sector) they can really cream you early. I have certainly had to abandon games because I could not bribe the AIs to leave me alone no matter what I offered.

Good job guys! :CONGRAT:

I thought you pirates might find this essay on parrot care to be useful, or at least amusing.
