Galciv won't run correctly on my comp

Ok heres the problem....When I run Galciv I get a split screen...in resolution 800x600. No other res works... res 1152x768 splits my windows screen...and anything higher then that and my monitor goes into sleep mode. When I turn the monitor off then on again I have a black screen. I have updated my video card and it's drivers (Gforce4) and now am at a lost..any ideas?

1152x768? Shouldn't that be 1024x768? What size is your monitor?
