House Guests

I guess it is the mom in me but I love having a full house.  I enjoy taking care of friends and family and having them stay with us.  I am most content when surrounded by people to interact with.

We have a friend who will be staying with us for 10 days and I am quite looking forward to it.  I love having a large group at dinner and a house full of conversation and activity.  Our house is always full of activity with two young boys but it is nice to have other adults around for a change.

I am fortunate enough to have a large house which includes a guest suite.  Our house guest gets his own room complete with Queen size bed, TV/VCR and private bathroom with a large shower.  We put a bookshelf in the room with books and magazines in case our family gets to be too much and the guest needs some quiet time.

I think it is a great experience for our kids to be around different people with different life styles.  This friend is from the UK but we have also had friends from all over the US and a friend from Italy stay.  I think I had maybe a couple of house guests all growing up and they were all family members.  I couldn't wait to be old enough to go to friends' houses and see how other people live.

I only wish we could convince more friends and family to come stay!
