How Do People Delete All Their Articles?

How do people delete all their articles when they disappear?

Do they click on "delete" one-by-one? Or is there some Master Destruct button somewhere that I've missed?

For that matter, if one was so inclined, how do you close your account and drift into oblivion?

You have to delete each one, then Stardock can actually deactivate the blog account if so wish.


But, as far as I know, the blogs aren't "really" deleted, they are just more or less hid from JU.


I am hoping that is just a curious question.

What Karma said. Gene, I came here to hone my writing skills in the hopes of being able to pursue freelance opportunities, and your writing has been invaluable in that regard. I may not comment on your articles much, but the general style and flow of your work has given me a clearer view of what I need to pursue.

This isn't a "Goodbye Cruel, JU!" article, so no-one needs to feel obligated to run in and beg me not to go.

I always said that if I left I would a) Just do so, and b) Leave all my articles where they were. I am, though, begining to sympathize with those who take the "delete all evidence" route.

Thank you, Karma. I thought it was something like that. I don't think I would have the patience for that. I kind of admire the fortitude of those who have taken this route in being able to sit there and click delete and confirm so many times.


I am hoping that is just a curious question. 


That was going to be my excuse if anyone asked. "Um, it was just a question... I didn't say I was leaving or anything."


I keep telling myself I have a purpose in being here and as long as that purpose still exists then I should stay. I've just been telling myself that more and more lately.

Thanks for the answer. Now that I know, I'll make this private in a little while. UPDATE: Maybe I'll leave it up for instructional purposes in case anyone else wants to know. I guess I should have e-mailed and asked instead. I didn't mean to cause any drama.

No drama.  But, if you have any issues that you want to discuss, you can always feel free to email me.


We don't want to make it easy to delete everything.  People sometimes regret doing that, so we want people to have to go through some work to do it.  Our coding admins can delete everything in a blog if needed, but that requires emailing us and waiting until we have time to do it.

I don't have any issues with the service or anything.

Though I may be "angry, frustrated, and disappointed" with the community, I put the responsibility solely on myself. I believe we (mainly unconsciously) teach people how to treat us. If I'm not getting the results or reactions I would hope for then I figure the fault lies with me. It's either something I am doing or not doing that's getting me the results (or lack of results) that I find dissatisfying.

Of course it is easy enough to drop out of the community -- don't allow comments, don't post to the forums, and don't visit anyone else's blogs. Even if I did that it wouldn't last any longer than my not allowing comments policy of earlier in the year. So it's kind of pointless. (No pun or Freudian slip intended.)
