Random Event Where Powerful Artifact Is Uncovered

There's a random event where a powerful artifact is uncovered, and the civilization that has it is said to grow stronger every day and you should wipe them out. Has any player ever gotten this event? I've seen AI races get it about 4 times now, but I really don't know what it does. When I get advice like that from the game, though, I tend to pay attention. The Draginol event taught me that. ;)

It's happened to me twice. It's never really mattered to me, since I just whacked the civs that got it pretty quickly. I never actually got to see it make them "more powerful"...

I once saw it happen to an AI on the other side of the galaxy that had a nice chunk of territory. I didn't get a chance to take them out for a long, long time, and nothing terribly impressive seemed to happen to them.

That random event is supposed to increase a random attribute of that race +1/turn (from a earlier post I have read). So I could only speculate if you actually did let it go long enough, you would get wiped out :notsure: .

I've had it in six games and took no action, as they were always my staunchest ally. I never suffered any for it.

I think that +1 to a random attribute is right, I was checking my espionage info and noticed that the Torians had +6% PQ instead of the base of +5% for the PQ pick.

Interesting thing, every single AI civ in my game took the +5 PQ trait.
