Capitals and Goods

It seems that in GalCiv, if you built a capital, trade good or wonder and cancel it afterwards, you cannot build it again either on the same planet or anywhere else. I'm not so sure but the effects of the project seem to remain even after they're canceled. For some anyway. Personally, I think this is rather awkward: I should be able to move the capital when I want to.

I've also notice that the giving, or as the manual puts it, licensing of trade goods is a one time deal: once you license them the product, they'll have it forever. This is even stranger, I'd say. A licenser should be able to revoke the license any time he sees fit, or at least be able to discontinue the license after the agreed turned. Not only does this make more sense, it also make trade goods a much more useful and versatile bargaining chip.

I think that the trade goods are a fun game-play idea.

Ulyssez, I wrote a custom patch for you to resolve your disagreement. Whenever you see the word "license trade-good", you should mentally cross it out and replace it with "one-time givable item with permanent effect"... :)
