What is Your Stress Reliever?

Let the comments flow...

So, what do you do when you want to feel good, and refreshed? What do you do when you need a break from the "cycle"? Where do you go? What is it you do? Explain why. Here's my list:

Riding my horse makes me feel astounding. It's a good work-out, I feel a bit worn out after trotting and cantering a while, but overall it makes me feel great and I really feel like there's horse/rider chemistry going on. It's like she understands me, as stupid as that may sound.

Driving relaxes me. It's like a way to vent after a bad day. Take the back roads and step on it! Crank the music up!

Writing is also another stress reliever. It's a way to organize my thoughts and it clears my mind to put it on paper.

Taking a hot shower washes away the uncertianty and doubts I sometimes have about things.

Painting my toes hot pink is a random thing I do that just makes me happy.

Playing my piano and guitar is basically a soul soother.

Driving. Usually in the mountains, or at night. I love driving at night with my sunroof open.

Taking a hot shower. For as long as I can recall showers have been an endorphine experience for me. Any pain I'm feeling is temporarily dispelled while in a shower. Cold showers energize me, hot showers relax me. But either way I end up feeling human again.

Watching the sunset. I love to grab a glass of raspberry iced tea and sit out on my front porch watching the sun set behind the Rocky Mountains. I have yet to grow tired of this sight, and I doubt that I ever will.

Playing racquetball. Some good ole fashioned sweat time. Followed by a nice hot shower and I feel like a million.

Visit Garden of the Gods. This is a Saturday morning ritual with me, and it helps me keep my sanity on the weekend.Link

Read. I love reading. Technical papers, novels, news articles, comic books, and pretty much anything I can find. Science Fiction does it for me when I want to escape. Peter F. Hamilton is one of my favorites for this.

Listen to music. This is one that I will combine with Reading, Driving, and Watching sunsets. I love music. Music inspires me and jumpstarts my imagination. When I used to draw and paint I would always do so to music. Combining it with other activies that I enjoy just makes me enjoy them that much more. Music brings to life my past and offers glimpses of the future.

Going to Church. This is a place I can go to and talk about anything. Weither it's talking to my pastor or a youth leader or even God. I can go to church and feel calm and soothed knowing I'm in the pressence of the Lord.

Listen to music. I love to listen to music. Usually when I'm in need of something to cheer me up I just go inside and put Relient K in my cd player. Sometimes it's even a little bit of classical music that'll do it.

My hay loft. We have a hay loft over in our barn where i keep my goats. If I get mad over something, I just simply walk to the barn and climb up to the hay loft. I even go up there to think about things sometimes, or play with my goats to get my mind off of something.

My bed. This is where most of my thinking goes on. Usually at night right before I go to bed. Or I can just go and chill in my room if i'm frustrated or angry with my brothers or parents. I just simply lock the door and I have my room all to myself.

Playing softball. There's basically nothing I love to do better than play a good game of softball. Now if I'm really angry I usually do better. So I normally like to get mad about something before I start a game. And by the end of the game all my anger is gone and I'm totally happy again!

Watch a disaster movie -provided there's one showing in the movies. There's usually one during summers. I love big disaster movies where a lot of people's lives are in jeopardy. I guess deep down inside and I will never admit this to anyone in real life, I like seeing different people get together, put aside their differences and helping each other. I just feel better after watching something like.

Play computer games - I love my wargames. They are the WWII turnbased type. Steel Panthers World at War, East Front II and Rising sun are my favorites.

Go to the computer shop and browse around - yes, I am a nerd. Looking at computers, new gadgets, accessories, and games cheers me up.

Get drunk and sleep - high and comatosed. *G*

Reading --my best stress reliever...whether it be my Bible or the current book I'm reading.

Taking a bubble bath---I just kick back and relax for half an hour or so, and the stress just seems to melt away.

Playing Tetris--seems to get out my violent feelings when I'm stressed.

Writing---putting my feelings down on paper is one of my favorite ways of dealing with them.

Listening to music---doesn't matter what it is, as long as I can play it LOUD....and then I usually dance myself into exhaustion, as well.

Music - Nothing better than listening to my beautiful used iPod. I like to imagine that I've finally achieved Super Saiyan 4 as I listen to Dumb by Garbage, the greatest band in the universe.

Television - That '70s Show never fails to ammuse me (except that episode where Donna leaves for California and those episodes where Eric is broken up with Donna).

Piano - I like to pretend I have an audience as I'm playing the boss battle music from Final Fantasy VI.

There's not really much else I do yet, but I do plan to implement a few more in time.

Long walks in the woods or watching the full moon night or listening to ghazals( Indian romantic songs) will do for me.

Singing or playing my flute, often in conjunction with the first.

Sex, sex, and more sex.  A good 'O' is a great stress reliever.

Writing.  Venting on paper (or screen) is very theraputic for me.

Smoking - tobacco, before anyone gets any crazy ideas.  That's always helps.  It's not healthy, but it helps.
