Some things about me....

I am a real person!

In light of some of the lies that have been going around recently, I have decided to write an article about myself. These are things that have actually happened in my life. I do not “suffer” from the bad things, nor do I choose to ignore them. They happened, and I intend to move on and keep living. One thing I do intend to do is try to make a better life for my children.

I:
1. Am blind in one eye, but you can’t tell.
2. Was made-fun-of most of my life, mainly by other kids.
3. Was raised in a home where my parents fought all the time. (Physically and verbally)
4. Rent a three-bedroom house with a HUGE yard.
5. Am bored at work a lot!
6. Have always been an attractive person, both physically and mentally.
7. Have a mother who had a 6-pound tumor removed from her kidney. (Thank God it wasn’t cancerous!)
8. Have “made it” on my own, with nothing to start from. There’s nowhere to go but up!
9. Cried myself to sleep every night when I was growing up.
10. Love Chai.
11. Plan on going back to school some day. To be a …haven’t figured it out yet.
12. Had a very spoiled little sister, whom I love very much and miss a hell of a lot right now! (She lives in Virginia. Me? I’m in Colorado.)
13. Started getting migraines when I was 5 years old.
14. Was raised in a very fundamental Christian Church, 6th generation.
15. Was raped at 16, by my boyfriend.
16. Have been to Seattle and Florida.
17. Fell in “love” with someone on the Internet who lived across the country. He moved here and, let’s just say, it didn’t work out!
18. Ran away from home when I was 16.
19. Just dyed my hair, well, I was going for a little more red, but it turned out more on the purple side! Oh well, you only live once, right?
20. Dropped out of school my junior year and started working.
21. Became pregnant at the age of 18.
22. Married an abusive man.
23. Can be somewhat dramatic at times.
24. Am too critical of myself.
25. Have a mother who has leukemia.
26. Tried to make my marriage work, but finally realized that I was the only one trying.
27. Have three beautiful kids!
28. Have a drama queen for a daughter, with cute little dimples and beautiful green eyes. Here’s a picture:
Link 29. Have a wonderful boyfriend, who cares a lot about me.
30. Had a miscarriage when I was 20.
31. Hate the “c” word. You’ll have to ask me what it is.
32. Moved across three states when I was 10, because father became very ill.
33. Have a disabled father.
34. Have a son who is growing up to be quite a good person, even if I do say so myself.
35. Spent five nights in the hospital, hoping my baby daughter would live when she was two weeks old. She had RSV.
36. Have a mother who worked full time and was depressed during the time that she wasn’t working.
37. Love wearing blue jeans. I wear them all the time!
38. Became an Auntie in February of this year.
39. Have lots of really caring friends.
40. Would not get my driver’s license until I was 18. I was scared to drive.
41. Am a complete klutz.
42. Have a little baby who calls me “Daddy”. I am her daddy, and mommy, and everything else!

As "Kayles" mom, I would just like to put in a little blog in defense of her father and I. First of all, we didn't fight "all the time", physically and verbally. There was fighting, but there was also loving and hugs and kisses and working to keep our family together through the rough times we had. I did work part time, but not "all the time" and when I wasn't working, I was not "depressed". I was a busy mom, trying to raise two children and take care of a husband who was very ill. I thank G-d every day that my husband eventually got better. Now he's trying to take care of me, but we're still married (27 years) and we still love each other very much. I am dismayed to see how negatively we're portrayed in Kayles' vision of herself and her life. Kayles, I love you very much and I think your Dad and I have been very supportive of you. I'm sorry that you can't see that. Although your life is hard sometimes you've never been "alone". We have always been there for you.
