How to suggest changes and get the developers to think about it
from
Stardock Forums
Want not to do is
1. Start out with this game sucks if you do not implement this feature.
2. Say that the way it currently works is lame or any other neagtive term.
3. State that this must be implemented because MOO2/SEIV4 or some other 4X game had it.
What to do.
1. Start out describing the problem and how it impacts play/balance.
2. Suggest a solution that you have thought out and suggest how will improve game play/balance.
3. Make sure you have thought it through. What would be the impact on the interface. Would it be easy for the AI to use etc, would it force people to micromanage etc.
4. Don't expect a reply from Brad. Hopefully your idea will generate some interest and keep the post near the top.
Stardock is responsive to player suggestions but they are not going to implement every suggestion or go against the games basic design. If you are not sure what the game design is look through Brad's articles in the Encyclopedia.
