Technology Victory

If one of the AI players has researched the Final Frontier before you, you can't win by Tech Victory anymore.

No, that's not possible. Like I said before, I achieved the alliance victory after researching 'the final frontier' and I was bribing all AI's with technologies. Noone of them have researched it before I did.

Once, I enabled the "Alien Tech Victory" instead of the "Tech Victory". You can check this by simply starting a new game and looking at the selections that are enabled on the list.

I started a new game 2 hours ago and all win conditions were enabled. So I'm pretty sure that it was also enabled in the game before.

When I hit the 'Main menue' button at the end of the game then there was a 100 % besides the technology victory at the bottom of the screen. So everything should be right to achieve this victory but the game simply doesn't end. Do I have to do anything after researching 'the final frontier' or should the game end immediately ?

If you want to send me the save game file from your Galactic Civilizations\Data\SavedGames folder, I'll see if I can reproduce it here and see why it isn't ending.

Sorry, but i've deinstalled the game and installed it again. But now i'm going for my next technology victory. If the same happens there too then I will send the save game to you and everybody who's interested in getting it.

Well... I've the same Problem. I had researched the final frontier and gamemonth' later there was a new tech to research (galactic pacifism). But that's not the last one. I'm the first there, but the game doesn't end. Who knows how many will be going able to research? And when?

Maybe, you should just stop going for wimpy tech victories and conquer the galaxy if you're doing so well.

Hmm... That is possible, but I want to see the vid of technology victory...
So. Does anyone knows it?
Well. I just found a tech-tree. So i knows waht the galactic parcifism is. Thats not a tech to technology-victory. But so I go back to the first question in this thread. oO

I don't knowf I should tell you the vid. Don't want to spoil it for you.

I just got my first tech victory yesterday. Here's how it went:

1. Researched every possible tech BEFORE selecting "Final Frontier".

2. Was definately the first civ to reach this tech.

3. After finishing the research for "Final Frontier", I was presented with the "choose a tech to research" page - but it was completely blank.

4. Then I played out the last round, and after all of my autopilot moves, the game locked up for a minute or so (assumedly to load the vid).

5. The video played, and then the "endgamesave" save game was saved and I was presented with the final score screens.

As I am rather new to GalCiv, I don't know why you folks are having probs - but I thought this info might help someone out there...

And by the way, is anyone else currently having probs submitting scores to the metaverse?

Yeah. Thanks. Now i know my mistake. I had one tech (galactic parzifisim) after final frotier. I think thats the problem. I will test it.
