A Possible Promotion

I just finished my second week at the new job. Last night I was asked if I would be interested in applying for a promotion to a management position. I was really surprised as I have only been there two weeks.

My manager told me about an opening and said that he would really like it if I would apply for it. He said he'd recommend me for it to the hiring manager as I have a strong management background. I guess I'm doing something right.

I brought the promotion application home with me and willl fill it out to submit when I return to work on Tuesday. It will mean a nice bump in pay and a move to salaried instead of hourly plus some extra benefits and perks. It will aslo make it easier for me to afford a decent place to live here.

I have always "moved up the ladder" fairly quickly with any company I've worked for, but this is the first time I've been recommended for a promotion after only two weeks.

Life is definately looking up.

Well, being broke I haven't really had any chance to get out and about. COnserving my finacial resources which are dwindling at an alarming rate. Love the warm (ok, hot) weather though. And thanks Kelly for the vote of confidence

Thanks mig, but I haven't actually gotten the promotion yet, just a recommendation for it. Someone with more senority may apply and get it instead of me. Is nice that I am being recommended though. A little ego boost.
