Installing on more then one computer.

Hello.

I have the full subscription to totalGaming.Net (Got it mainly for GalCiv + AP, and figured it was a great way to directly support the developers) but I'm trying to figure out one thing.

I do a lot of travelling for work and have to take a laptop with me, so I figured that a game of GalCiv would be a great way to kill a 3 hour train ride.

The TotalGaming.Net site mentions that you can install the software like this...as long as only one copy is in use at the time but how do I go about doing this?

(Love the game btw!!!)

Well since you don't need the CD disc to play galciv, then you could probably install galciv on both of your computers and it should work the same way. Just make sure the game on your laptop is registered to the same acount in your other computer. Also you're going to have to have an internet connection to your laptop inorder to submit games from your laptop. I hope I understood what you were asking. :)

Thanks for the reply John.

Actually, I don't have a CD....I just downloaded the game using Stardock Central.

I'm just wondering if a) I need to place Stardock Central on the Laptop and b) Is there a way I can get the game on the laptop without having to download everything again?

Or do I need to order a CD?

If you archived the apps on your desktop, you could just burn the archived copies to cd. Install stardock central on your laptop and restore the games from the cd you just burned using the restore function in stardock central. Either way you will need stardock central on your laptop.

You can install TotalGaming.net on as many computers as you own as you like as long as only one copy of it is running at once.

Anwswer: You do not need to order the CD, (unless you want to) all you have to do is either:

1) Copy every folder that is on your computer for galciv, and burn all of them to a CD. You can then install it on any computer you like.

2) If you do not have a burner, or if you can't do that then you can copy the files for galciv (just like you had to do in 1 ) and send them to your laptop via network. They have to be connected by LAN or some kind of network though.

Thanks much for the help all. I have a burner so I was able to do it that way, now these train trips won't be so boring!!

Good on ya Zakkoris, thats exactly what I have been doing since GC first came out. Its not quite so easy to play on a plane, as it is on a train, but it does make long trips less of a task. LOL

I think it is better to use the archive feature of Stardock Central and burn the SDC archive (as well has the intall of SDC if needed) to a CD. You surely don't want to handle yourself the registry keys :)
