Production goes way down...

Ok, so get this. I'm isolated in a little corner of the galaxy, and a few turns after I produce an Armada of about 15 ships, the production rate of all my planets goes down about 100% for example the amount of turns for a destroyer used to be about 4 turns, but now its 450 turns just for a stinkin' destroyer. It can't be financial issues because I'm creating a surplus and even when that goes down I just take funds from planet developement. What do you make of this astronomical anomaly?

Without looking at your game, I'll hazard a few guesses:

1. Economy isn't doing as well as you think it is because you are reducing the overall government spending to keep a surplus. (I'm guessing this isn't the case)

2. You don't remember changing the sliders for funding (i.e. a lot of your money is being spent on research now)

3. Your population has shrunk and is unable to build as much because the population base isn't there.

4. The morale on that planet has sunk significantly. To some extent morale plays a part in the production of a planet.

You know I have also noticed a lot of unrest on all my planets. They're getting worse and the people are pretty pissed. I've tried a few things like making spies of my own and building more military but They just keep getting madder. Maybe their being mad has reduced the production rate. If thats the case then how can I make them content?

You have to build morality increasing items, increase the PQ of the planet, etc. There is also a slider in the details for each planet. You can fund the slider to the max and that will help.

Contrary to some 4x games, spies and military haven't really an influence on morale. If you want to have planet with good morale you need:
- avoid too high taxes rate
- have a positive treasury
- build all PQ and morale improvements (as long as their maintenance isn't greater than 3)
- increase your empire wide morale bonus (with tech, mining yellow galactic ressource or morale enhancing Trade Goods)
- increase the propaganda slider in the planetary detail
- build some colony ships to transfer people from low PQ planet to high PQ planets

Maybe their being mad has reduced the production rate

If morale drop below 25%, you have huge penalties on production. And you want to have at least 55% in morale on each of your planet to keep the population increasing

The morale resource can also be very helpful.  Morale will also drop if you're in a war for a long time, or if you've been deficit spending for too long.  Even just putting money in social spending will improve their morale slightly.

I just had a game where this happened also. My production levels went from 2-3 times that of the AI to finally lower by 2 times. I went from being well in the lead to way behind and nothing I could do would change it. My taxes was at 5% and my spending was at only 9%. I had to max out the propaganda spending to stay in the game as long as I did. Most of my planets were at moral level 42-49. I had all the moral resources in my area and built many of the moral boosters. This has to be a bug if you want the game let me know I will zip it up with the Mods I used. (:(

I did not loose the Senate no idea what happened. I finally quit the game due to this situation getting worse. :notsure: I have never seen this happen before in any of the games I played. :notsure:
