Drama Queens

I don't know about drama but I suppose a woman would like that type of guy "jealous" because then she'd know he liked her - it sounds weird but if I guy goes to all the trouble of being jealous of another guy - example someone that's just a friend - it shows the woman her "man" cares about her.

Or maybe she just likes being treated like a possession?

We love being fussed over......So if a guy were with gets there back up because were talking to a friend or a total stranger, we love it because we can see he actually cares about us and doesn't want anyone else near us, its like were theres and no one else's......it might sound stoopid and yeah it is, but thast how it is....

I know from experience that i perfer the jealous macho guy....i tried the nice sensative guy, and it didn't sit well with me.....it was like i had to baby him......like i was with him that night and he just followed me round like a lost puppy and then when another guy kissed me he did nothing he just said its ok bla bla bla, who wants that???????? you want someone that is going to care if some dude puts his mouth on you.....you dunt want some sissy to just stand there and tell u its ok and that he doesn't mind!!!!!!

Why is that there are so many guys wanting the women that crack the whips? Or guys wanting the drama queens? I've always heard that nice guys finish last, but actually, nice girls don't even get to finish.

According to Maxim, 80% of the American women (Maxim readers at least) prefer the macho, jealous type of boyfriend… I am no psychology major, however, it has come to my attention that there are many women here on JU, and perhaps they can provide some insight…

They can be exciting to date, if you think that kind of behavior signifies "love"....but as you get more mature and realize what love REALLY is, those are the guys you run from. Unfortunately, some of us don't mature to that point until after we actually MARRY one of the wrong ones....and THAT is a disaster, let me tell ya!

IMO, if a guy is jealous, it means he's insecure and doesn't trust the relationship, or me......which means it's never going to work out between us. I'm not the jealous type, and I can't handle a man who is.....

Exactly! My hubby is the most caring, wonderful man I know....but he doesn't get crazy jealous over my male friends. Of course, I have enough respect for US not to do/say/behave/ etc.....in ways that would be considered inappropriate.

I LOVE you!!! YOu have totally represented me!!! I'm one of the nice girls, but I ALWAYS am unnoticed by teh guys I want!! I swear!! Why is it that the bitchy, superficial, rich, controlling, horny chearleaders get the guys that I want?!?!?!?!!!??!?! And once they have the guy, they give him zero attention and flirt with other guys to make him feel like crap! I think guys like the drama queens. Maybe it's because they're drawn to the drama themselves.

Hmmm.....so women are drama queens who like macho possesive guys, who can only show they care about you by batting you over the head, throwing you over their shoulder and take you back to their cave, huh? I don't consider myself to be one of these nice girls, I have my moments of been a complete pain in the ass, I'll freely admit it, I don't let a guy walk all over me, I expect certain things, I expect to be treated a certain way and I don't expect anything less. So in them respects I guess I can be classed as hard work, or someone who knows what she wants and is not willing to settle for anything less. Am I a drama queen? I have been called that in the past, I think my problem is I actually enjoy a good argument, not even an argument, a debate, I love it, to have an intellectual argument about something, and I actually go out of my way to do this, the making up is always good to. These possesive guys though, they just freak me out, why can't he just tell you he cares about you and you believe him??? Why does he have to get jealous? I'm sorry I don't understand anyone wanting that kind of behaviour to happen. I actually find it sexy that a man can leave you to your own devices and not get jealous because shock, horror you're talking to another guy. It's all about playing games, and I hate that with a passion, open and honest is the best way to be. All I want is a nice sensitive, intelligent guy who can make me smile on occasion and I will be happy. I don't want some guy that is so retarded in showing his emotions he can only do it by acting like an ass and getting jealous. Give me the nice guy anyday! As for the guys wanting the drama queens, them guys deserve all the earache, heartache and any other aches they may get due to these queens of drama, I said it before, the nice girls just need to find the nice guys and leave everyone else to enjoy the games they seem to get a kick out of. I think I have learned my lesson, maybe the hard way? Now, I always seem to end up with guys who cry more than I do! I know it sounds sweet, but when you’re trying to talk about the relationship and your boyfriend is sobbing in a little puddle on the floor, it gets old. So, which is better? The emotional wreck-type that can't decipher his feelings about you, or the Macho-jealous guy that shows the world you’re his? Is there some middle ground? Are there any emotionally stable, dependable, yet sensitive and caring men in this world?

In my experience there is a fine line to balance to satisfy a woman's desires for a jerk and for a nice guy. Sometimes they want a guy that will rush to their defense, even when they don't need defending. Sometimes they want a guy who will trust them and respect them. The problem is that I've seen these traits appear in the same girl. There is nothing wrong with that, and I certainly change my wants based on circumstance, but it means new relationships can get a bit confusing at times.

I went through a jealous phase in my teens and found that most girls did not respond well. The same jealous behaviors in college seemd to garner much better reactions. Later in life I mellowed quite a lot. The same type of girls that responded so well to the jerk me in college found the respectul/trusting me uncaring. It wasn't that I didn't care about them, just that I had learned that there are some things not worth getting red-faced and insane about. However, I found that girls that were themselves respectful and trusting (of themselves and others) responded favorably to the new me. I also found these relationships much more satisfying.

Is there some middle ground? Are there any emotionally stable, dependable, yet sensitive and caring men in this world?

No seriously... I am so pleased you guys shared your thoughts and input on this... It is a social problem, based on what we see and hear every day in society... everyone here is insightful... If only I had more than 5 insightfuls in a day... you would all get them!!!

I put it down to insecurity hence so many females chasing men who possess the characteristics you mentioned. Jealousy - an insecurity.

I believe these people have no clue of the fundamentals of a working relationship (or for one to work). Eg; trust, loyalty, honesty, communication, etc etc. They lack those qualities within themselves therefore they lack those qualities when it comes to not only relationships, but friendships too.

The female population (this is a generalisation so I'm not targeting YOU as such, I'm targeting the topic at hand) is unneccesarily complex & I hate being one for the sole reason being they give the rest of us a bad name.
