Altarian prophecy

I've quit galciv for sometime, mostly due to that I didn't have a computer, But I'm trying to get back into it and I was wondering, is Altarian prohpecy only avaible online? I would really like to purchase it in a retail store simply because it's a pain in the butt to borrow credit cards as I am 17

Well, does anyone have an answer? I'm assuming No, I saw the CD format on the online purchases but I would so much rather the convienence of a retail store. I really appreciate any help. I am a US resident

i believe a Galactic Civilisations Gold is being slated for retail release sometime - however that would be a GalCiv/AP bundle.....

>.< Thank you, I guess I won't be buying it then *sniff*

It's a shame that it isn't in retail by itself.

Strange, I was thinking that there was a deal with strategy first for the retail version of AP in North America.
After few search, I found this page http://www.stardock.com/newsitem.asp?id=626
with the following:
The expansion pack, Galactic Civilizations: Altarian Prophecy, has an introductory price of $19.95 and can be purchased on CD or via electronic download. A retail version of the game should be available later this summer along with a bundle of the original game and the expansion pack to be titled "Galactic Civilizations Gold".

don't fret b121587h - i suspect the GalCiv Gold package, as an 'old game' will be very competitively priced to attract a new audience in order to spin that new audience into a fuller priced GalCiv2.

Hm, well I was at Wal-mart the other day, I couldn't find it, EB didn't have it either. And so my time that I can spend hours on a single game is drawing to a close, school starts soon. I guess there's always the weekends =D

Or I could just wait for Galciv2, I don't want to buy gold simply because it's like me buying diabloii over again just to install the expansion *cough* I did that twice because I broke my play disk, and I broke that one too, so that means I bought 3 copies of d2, and I still can't play it, new computer >.< anyways, sorry for boring you on a long and off-topic story.

If Gold is 30$ I may get it, though the 19.95 altarian prophecies is much more appealing =p Thank you

I only know of getting the stuff online or ordering a CD of the game from them.

CariElf,

Sorry to bother with this, but I live in South Africa, where bandwidth is fairly expensive. I do not particularly wish to download, but cannot find the cost for the CD to be shipped to me. Possibly b121587h would also find this of interest.

Thanks for the info.

It's $10 for shipping anywhere outside of North America.
