| ""Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of The Judgement; but I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause, shall be in danger of The Judgement; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Ra ca, (worthless) shall be in danger of the Council, but whosoever shall say Thou Fool!, shall be in danger of hell fire." |
I think it is a poor interpretation to say that Jesus said that people who call other people fools were going to hell. It seems pretty obvious that Jesus is saying that discounting other human beings for whatever reason is a
symptom of what sends people to hell. Our acts don't send us to hell, rather our intent, the filth inside us that provokes those acts sends us to hell. The words that seem to be missed are "shall be
in danger of hell fire"
If you are the kind of person that won't hear reason and discounts the value of others based upon their beliefs and ideas, then perhaps you have a deeper problem that won't be something to be proud of when you face your maker. People seem to want zero-tolerace judgement on acts, but it is your spiritual health that determines your acts.
