Hard to see - really dark!

I can't see my ships very well unless I'm playing on a map with a bright nebulae background. Turning up the gamma works a bit, but then the rest of the interface is just way to bright. The screenshots I've seen have nice bright ships. Any help out there?

Wow. No. Not unless you just bought/built this computer and haven't installed/played any other game on it. Weird that everything else looks ok, but the ships don't . . . .

I'll poke around the mesh files to see where a ship's brightness comes from, but don't hold your breath, I'm not exactly versed in Sins development.

No problem cannabinoid,

Just go to Menu > Options > Effects and turn off "Use Deep Space Backgrounds"

Now you are all set, You'll only get the bright colored ones :)

A friend had the same problem, he changed over his 10year monitor with a 3year one and everything worked fine after that.

Two requests:

1) It would be great if there was an option to choose wich particular background to use ingame.

2) It would help if there was an option to "use another background" during the game, especially with saved games.

I consider these requests useful since some of those backgrounds simply don't work for me and my setup, sometimes rendering the whole game unplayable due to the ramdom choice the game takes. This makes me "end game" "start new game" several times, until the game generously chooses a background that "works".

Toggling the enable background options on and off generally does that.
