Now That It's Over

Ok, Christmas is all over and done with now. For the most part it's time for life to return to normal once again.

I spent today waiting for a call from dispatch that never came, catching up the last of the laundry and doing the ironing, and basically getting things ready for the road once again. I'm not overly surprised that dispatch didn't find a load today. Many places shut down by noon last Friday so it's no mystery as to why they wouldn't have anything ready to ship today.

I'm actually ready to hit the road. The Christmas stuff is done, my wallet is thin, and it's time to go make some more money. I'm hoping the call comes reasonably early tomorrow as I want to get back out there. I'm not especially looking forward to leaving nice warm Florida for the frigid northern climes, but that's where the money is so I need to go and get it.

I hope you get back on the road as soon as you wish, but at the same time I hope you get to enjoy some rest time too

Thanks. I think I'm about as rested up as I'm gonna get. If I don't get going soon boredom will set in and I may have to resort to actually doing some housework or something. :SURPRISED:

Glad you had a nice Christmas.

If you're on a laundry kick, you can always fly out here to Hawaii. Free room and board, and all the laundry you can wash, dry, fold, hang, and iron!

About the only places that did not have Monday off where the retailers.  And many just shut down until New Years.  Hopefully enough did not and you get a call today.

Have a safe trip. The weather is not too bad up here so far this year.  At least we are getting rain again.  If no snow.

Luckily I don't haul for the retail market. Unluckily, a lot of the industrial and military sector I do haul for is off until after the first of the year too.

I don't like to iron, but if I don't do it then it won't get done, and I dislike wearing wrinkled clothing more than I dislike ironing.

I spoke with dispatch earlier and they're looking but so far I haven't heard back from them.
