BootSkins problem

I read the pinned guide and didn't find an answer there relating to this question, so I guess this would be the place to ask.

I've tried installing all three versions of BootSkins that are available for download on Stardock's site. The newest version, 1.05a, causes a pseudo-BSOD after getting partially into the boot. Version 1.03 gets to the end of the boot, as in, when XP switches over to the login screen. However, during the time where the screen "goes black" and is loading, the new boot screen "shifts" partially back to the XP boot screen (the three blue progress bars reappear) and then promptly freezes. Version 1.02 acts the same way. (And, actually, the XP boot screen appears for a split second before the new boot screen appears.)

Is this an issue with my computer or is it a problem with BootSkins? Is there anything I can do to resolve the problem, or will I have to suffice without using BootSkins?

(And, seeing as I didn't see a section for BootSkins on the side, if there's a better place for this thread, please move it accordingly, and I'm deeply sorry.)

If none of the 3 versions work properly for you then you are out of luck, it is your system BIOS, Bootskin does not play well with all system BIOS.

You're not alone. Just got a new Area51 SLI from Alienware. All three versions crashed me also. Just have to buck up and do without. Kinda sucks don't it. LOL
