Back On The Road And Freezing

Brrrrrr. I am now back in WI once again. It's cold and it's snowing. Yuck.

I'm laid over until Monday so I checked into the hotel where it's nice and warm. I'll spend the remainder of the weekend doing some knitting and just hanging out. Could be worse I suppose, but I really would rather be out there making some cash. Oh well, it's that time of year and freight is pretty slow.

I did knit up a beanie cap for myself to try out some different stitch patterns. I wanted to create a pattern of holes, as well as a swirl design. I plan to use these to make my mother a nice hat for Christmas. After some trial and error I came up with something that gave the desired results and can now use them to do the hat I have in mind for her.

It's nothing too impressive, just something I played around with to get a feel for how to create the desired effects.

Nice job on the caps for sure.  As long as they keep your head warm, it really doesn't matter, but you've done very well on getting a nice design in place.

It IS cold up here ain't it!

Before ya know it tho,  you'll be back where it's tee shirts and shorts weather

Looks great, You ought to start posting your patterns. I'm enjoying the snow, now that the ice is gone. I fly out to San Diego in 3 days... so i'm leaving my heavy coat here. Stay warm and safe...

Have a good trip.

With those sunglasses, you look like the Blind Imam.

As for the weather, it got us down this far, and is the reason I am working again today.  not Richmond, but 70 miles west, they had a nasty ice storm, so they could not get in to reset a router (it is down), to finish the testing last night.  Still cold, but hopefully above freezing where the router is so I can fix it today and go home for what is left of the weekend.

OK, I'll argue w/ you, Ilove that cap... post the pattern. I love patterns that are simple but look great. If you don't want to post it.. email it to me.. or post it on KH. You would be surprised at those of us who love patterns but mix up trying to write them.

I published the pattern on Ravelry. It's called Skullcap Beanie.

It's also on my knitting blog WWW Link

Short work.  A tech reloaded it and all was fine.  I think all the problems was caused by a power burp (they do play havoc with routers).  Still, took care of my entire weekend with the small problems.
