Demo?

Hey, I'm just curious as to know if there is a demo or any plans for a demo for Sins. I would really like to give the game a bit of a spin and see if I can run it on my com and see if I would be interested in buying it. I understand that people get the current beta from pre-ordering, but I'd prefer to have a go before spending money, besides I doubt I would give any real feedback.

Thanks for your interest PlayISDF. If we do release a demo, it will be after release (February) so that it accurately reflects what you will receive if you decide to buy it. Even when you load up our betas they always start with the sentence "Warning: This is NOT a demo" as the game changes a lot between each version. I expect the final release to be the same and it's only that version we would want to base the demo off of. Hopefully, you'll give it a shot then :)

Demophilic? Never heard of that.

I think it will be quite demo`able... just restrict included factions to a single side (Humans, presumably) and the battlefield to a single starfield map. Supreme Commander did it.

Hey when you have a game that looks like it is shaping up to be something very cool, you better expect people to ask for a demo. Also when you surf around the net and can't find an answer to the question of "Is there a demo" then you gotta expect threads about it.

Anyone who wants to see how well it would run on their system and muck around are going to be, well not addicted, but happy to have a demo even if it is just one map with one race. True, it wouldn't show a lot of the game, but if they are interested, then they are going to check out some info on the full game.

Maybe Stardock can put a sign above the count down numbers saying "IF THERE WILL BE A DEMO IT WILL BE RELEASED AFTER THE GAME RELEASE." Then we wouldn't have to pounce on all the forum newbs who ask about demos.  :d

I definately would like to see a demo. I'm mostly a turn based gamer from Civ to GalCiv and I've always stayed away from RTS type games as I just don't care for them (I hate the fact that you have to be an expert clicker to win vs. having a great strategy). Dungeon Seige was probably the closest to RTS I've ever enjoyed. So I would really like a demo to see if I would actually enjoy playing the game. I think many other turn based fans would feel the same way.
