Morale Crisis..

I am play a Gigantic Galaxy, with tight clusters and common habitable worlds (hopig for a high tech, high power game).

Now in my particular cluster I have colonized all the 15 and above planets (including a sweet 26..). I have only meet one other major race yet and we have formed a 2 sided UP council. They have way more influence that us so I am trying to bump up the number of systems we colonized.

By this stage we have a few planetary improvement techs so I figured on colonizing a few 13 and 14 world and quickly bumping them up to 15.

Colonization is no problem, but some of the world have morale reducing events and as I am trying to be good we have not really done anything to reduce them.

On these worlds within 1 or 2 turns they join the league of non-aligned worlds (very B5)....

What have I done wrong and how can I stop this??

Planets below 15 are very risky as you have found out. The morale for them is very had to keep high enough so that they do not defect. One possiblity would be to buy outright or lease the soil upgrade and habit improvement rather than build them slowly. Other idea would be just stay away from planets that low.

Also try using cranking up your propaganda setting on those planets until you get them up to Class 15.

Thanks for that...

P.S. looking at my post above I think I should make it clear that 'very B5' is B5 as in Babylon Five not BS as in Bull S***...darn that font...:)
