what if they attempted to conquer what they thought was an inferior race only to find they were not so inferior after all.

Like the Borg vs. Species 8472 in "Voyager"? I don't watch "Star Trek" all that much, but I did enjoy that specific episode.

They found that the universe isn't infinite, and that it's imploding. They're heading towards the core to escape their inevitable doom, hoping to research a system which allows them to escape the bubble, which is why they have so much advanced travel tech.

My reaction

I'm almost thinking that he's describing a reason for the Vasari Migration... but it so completely contradicts the lore, that even if he only read the first page and didn't notice the second one it still doesn't make sense.

we....are still talking about a campaign right...lol

I don't see any of your theories about the Vasari Cataclysm resulting in the only Vasari crew to return after making contact with their doom (And supposedly their ship was battle scarred at that) being absolutely crazy unless we follow the Alien/Maligant Entity (Not Computer Virus) path. And the fact that it's stated that the Vasari are always no more than a generation ahead, makes it sound to me as if they only start running once their outlying probes start dying again. Hence why the TEC and Advent holding them up would be making them so desperate, they know roughly how much time they have yet to flee whilst keeping a lead on their attackers, yet by their unyielding need for resources to fuel their exodus they have themselves tied down.

If anything, the Vasari's fear is sequel/expansion material.

If the campaign is like Empire at War's, I'll be very pleased. Achieving multiple objectives at the same time would be possible with the way the game appears to work (I'm a recent pre-orderer, through a family member doing so for me as a gift, and thus have no beta access)

I think its incredible at this day and age in PC gaming for a game to not have a Single Player campaign, especially in strategy games. Its like the people who make FPS or RTS games then dont have a multiplayer option...its a huge disappointment especially for someone who doesnt play online.

I think when they do get around to finishing the game in the expansion and adding the campaign that it covers the origional game AND the expansion. I was quite amazed that people gave it a 10/10 on a game that didnt have a single player campaign/story. Closer to 8/10 would have been more accurate.

Its sad to admit but I think in terms of scope I got my moneys worth more on Empire at War (Which had ground assault battles AND a campaign for each side)

I have to agree, its completely rediculous that Sins wasn't released with a campaign. If i had known this before, i would NOT have purchased it. Anyone can design a map and play it but how is that fun if you know what it looks like and what races your up against? The pre built maps might be randomized but that really has little impact on the re-play value. Once you play one of each size and a few multiplayer games its basically a paper weight. If there had been a campaign and a randomizer for the campaign that would have given Sins a 10/10. Closer to a 5/10 now imo.
