NOTICE: Issue Downloading & Submitting Skins - 10/26

Attention,

This morning we started receiving reports from users that they were experiencing errors downloading skins, and upon further investigation we discovered a problem with submitting skins as well.

We have identified the cause of the problem and are currently running a process to resync files on all skins servers.  This is a process that will take several hours to run.  At this time, we expect the job to finish this evening (we have a lot of files to go through).

For users who are having issues downloading, you may find the problem to be intermittent, and not apply to all skins.  Problems will be most common on skins that were uploaded or updated within the last 2 days.

For those users uploading skins, we are placing a hold on moderation until the problem is fixed.  Expect your work to be moderated over the coming weekend.

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, we're trying to get this corrected as quickly as possible.

The fix job finished up earlier this afternoon.  Everything should be back to normal again.

I'm having problems uploading an ObjectDock package. It goes all the way through, gives me the your file has been uploaded, please wait while we process your work notice, then says "When submitting a skin, the skin file must also be submitted". Anyone else having problems?

Yup, Harmony still isn't up Mike, Ive uploaded it twice.

I still cannot upload anything, the progress bar fills up and brings me right back to where I started. If trying to use the new upload with Firefox, the progress completes and then I get a message that the screenshot is not a valid file and to check the file extension. Matters not what I try to upload, I get the same results.

Okay, got two uploaded but #3 is a no go. I had to resave one under another name and rezip to get it uploaded. Will try #3 again tomorrow. It's late in Colorado and the damn Rockies flopped!

Haptork-

If the upload succeeded, but have received no email saying whether the skin was accepted or rejected yet, then it's still in moderation.  Moderators were instructed to hold off on processing skins while the site glitch was being worked on, so there's a bit of a backlog to work through now.

Let me know if #3 ends up working.  I'll keep an eye on the wallpaper queue for your stuff.  Oh... and... Go Sox!

Still no go for me...here's what I get after it says it's been uploaded and needs to process.

When uploading a new skin, your Skin file must also be submitted.

I'm uploading the preview which is a jpg and the file which is .dockzip. Is there any other route to upload?

messiah1,

The file extensions that you are using are correct.  And assuming you are uploading both files, this could be due to a 0 byte file.

You can receive this error if your file does not contain any data.  Could you let us know the size of the files you are uploading, and also the exact names that you are using?

Preview is called ColorPack_Preview3.jpg and is 1.19 mb (it's a large preview, I realize)
Skin file is called Harmony Colors.dockzip and is 927 kb.
I've also tried loading a regular zip file named Harmony Colors.zip which is 1.01 mb

Probably tried loading about 10 times between late Saturday night and today. Same result every time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It appears that our system is having a problem with the large size of your preview image.  Resize your image to a smaller size and this should help.

hehe, me hurt system. Sorry. That worked, I promise I won't try to bust the servers again...

I am trying to upload a cursor theme and I get a message saying that the skin file must be uploaded also ....but I did upload the skin file. I tried twice, same result. I uploaded a wallpaper to my personal gallery only and that went through no problem.

CXP file size is 47.2 kb
Preview is 157 kb

BrioCXP is the file name

Thats O.K. sir, but after how much time should I expect it to come up.

I just tried again and the result was a quicker fail. It didn't even try to upload the file this time, went immediately to the message saying the skin file needs to be included.

Night Train,

What are the file extensions you are using for your prevew and your skin?

Typically no more than 5 days [allows for weekends, etc]....with the site issue that may have extended a wee bit...

cursor theme is a .CurXPTheme file and the preview is a .jpg.

I will try again when I get home from work.
