New CursorXP

New CursorXP

Hello all,

The new CursorXP is due to launch in the near future. This is the updated version of CursorXP that will be Vista ready. What sort of new cursors are people looking for? What are your favorite types? These can be specific or broad.

Examples would be:

Rocket/Spaceships
Smooth Metal pointers
Glass pointers

or for categories

Complex animation
Steam Punk
Holiday
High Technology

Please cast votes for the new cursors! Cursors selected will be created new and then part of the launch package of the new software!

Cheers,
Seabass6.7

I'd like to see better colorization handling, more like how it works in WB. The coloring in CXP is so non-intuitive, have to play trial and error with moving around the slider and applying to actually see what color you get. Would be nice to have an actual preview so you can easily get the color you want.

I'll drink to that (tea ), the colour controls on CXP could use a face-lift/update to be more in keeping with WB6.

...same with Iconpackager.

How about really cool drink themed cursors!

My favorite cursors types: holiday, complex animation, fun stuff, cursors by J. J. Ying

None of the cursorxp versions have worked properly no matter what machine I install them on. It doesn't matter if I run two graphics cards or an excellent cpu. The only thing that works properly is shutting them off and running defaults.

Does anyone think another updated version is going to run properly? Cursorxp is a flawed product.

Works perfectly for me, and the majority of others. Must be something you are doing

Anyway, back to topic... This is my most used cursor, though it doesn't appear to be available for download anymore

I am not sure which version of CursorXP you are talking about. I had CursorXP 1.31 installed on various XP-systems (laptop and desktop, XP-home and XP-professional) for years, and have never had any problems with it.

I even run CursorXP successfully on Vista64bit.

Have you informed Stardock-support about your problems with CursorXP?

What type of card have you been running it with? I've used it since prior to Stardock's purchase of CursorEx and never had any problems until I upgraded to Vista. I almost exclusively run Nvidia cards on my machine though.

One thing I have found though is that if I do any type of gaming or anything else intensively graphical I generally have to shut it off until I am finished or my cursor gets really laggy.

On topic,

For my personal taste, a good cursor should be pointy at the tip. The ones with round tips or unusual forms might be cool to look at, but navigation with them is just not as precise and just more difficult.

That doesn't mean a cursor has to be arrow shaped, it can have an unusual form, but should have a clear tip somewhere. Does that make any sense?

Makes sense to me. I also like to know where my cursor is pointing.

Lots of good stuff na. Remember leCrayon? Innovative! Also there were some really great animated grasshoppers and hummingbirds released about 2002 or 2003.
