Hardware

I think this was talk long time ago. Will this game Use dualcore/quadcore? i mean like bioshock or lost planet, that work better with this type of CPU.

thanx

As of the last time we nailed a dev down on the subject, its not planned. Alas, they don't think a large enough market segment has that kind of processor to be able to use such a feature.

Quad core maybe, but dualcore is everywere. I live in south america, here things usualy are slower than in places like U.S.A or Europe, and lots of people have X2 or CD2. Also by the time sins is released, dual core will be more acepted.

Sins won't ship with multi-core support. This is something we may add for a possible expansion pack, however.

Sorry, should have put part of that in italics, BDUakito I happen to agree with your completely, but... (odds are the code is "mature" enough that adding the support at this late date would be difficult).

There's not enough time left to implement or test it adequately, no.

So is it in after all? The recommended specs list a Dual- or Quad-core system, so does that mean support was added? My C2D is the laptop variant of the 2.0GHz model, so if it's only using one of those processors it's going to be a severe bottleneck.

The other meaning of the required specs could be that the extra speed of dual-core architecture is whats needed -- a 2.0 GHz C2D processor is faster, even with just one core, than an old P4 3GHz processor.

AFAIK the game uses extra core(s) to speed texture loading, but I don't believe the rest of the game uses them to any significant degree. Don't quote me on that though.
