Killing Time In Denver

I spoke with dispatch this morning. He said he found a very good paying load going to Miami that loads close to here. It can't load until tomorrow but it pays well enough to make it worth waiting. It's a dozer and will be an oversized load.

So I have an entire day to kill here in Denver. I suppose there are far worse places to be stuck for a day. At least I have a nice view of the mountains from here. I have my laptop, Sirius radio, and my knitting to keep me occupied as well as food and showers handy so I can't really complain.

Since the load is going to Miami I suppose I'll go home from there. I had planned on running another week or two before going home but as I'll be down there anyway I may as well take advantage of it and hit the house for a few days.

Yeah is definitely cooler.

Just got a call with a change of plans. Seems the load to Miami fell through so now I'll be loading about 30 miles North of Denver this afternoon heading for San Antonio, TX. Disappointing as it doesn't pay nearly as well.

Your headline reminds me of the movie title: Things to do in Denver when you are dead.  I suppose you could always go grab that DVD to toss in while you are in the area

I thought the title meant "It's killing time! In Denver!" as if you were going on a murderous rampage through the Front Range.

Wow, and people accuse me of having a violent streak.

Hey, I haven't heard of any movies about Denver, so have a safe trip.

thanks.

The saga continues. The load to Miami fell through so they said I would be picking up a road roller about 30 miles North of here this afternoon and take it to TX. I called the guy and he said it's supposed to load tomorrow afternoon. At that point I just called dispatch and told them to sort it out and let me know.

I'm still waiting to hear back.
