Starting new games - not getting any points to allocate

The manul claims that you get 10 points to allocate to different skills. I have played two games so far (1 tiny and 1 small) and reveived ZERO points to allocate when creating my race. Is this normal? Do I have the setting incorrect?

I noted that, too. You don't have any points to start with... but, if you check the box under it, the points should be auto-allocated to something. Just change the points manually. No idea why it does that, though. :notsure:

Now if you have zero ability points AND have nothing already allocated, then there's a problem.

Thanks Morpork and redkraken, figured it out now. First you have to DE-allocate the points (just hit clear, then you can re-choose your abilities.

From what I've seen, the game must save the last empire configuration you've made from game to game, which I'm actually okay with. You have to manually go in and change your point allocations if you're, say, changing from playing a war-based empire to a research-oriented one (as I recently did).
