BRAD....Can I...

Install the windows version on the same CPU and use either or? I'd like to try it at a greater res. If I can...I have 2 HD's...are savegames interchangeable?
Thanks

1024x768 is the only resolution available in the game.

Yes, you can install it on different Windows installations on the same machine (or on your laptop) and trade the savegames between them. Just make sure that the game versions are the same (i.e. install the BonusPak on both of them).

I thought the windows version allowed for higher res...I want to know if it can be installed on one machine, one windows install, on another HD. The game works without a windows install which is why I asked. When I reinstalled WXP the other day the game on the D:\ still worked just fine without a reinstall.

I think you have some confusion here. You can install the Windowed GalCiv and the Full-Screen GalCiv together in the same directory. It's two seperate .exe files and they don't hurt each other. Of course, you can also install on two different PCs or two different partitions but you don't HAVE to if you don't want to.

The Windowed version runs in a fixed 1024x768 window. If your resolution is better, it will just not fill the whole screen, leaving you with some desktop area visible.

OK, what about the full-screen one? I *need* larger resolution of starmaps and was considering upgrading my monitor? will the fullscreen version play in > 1024x768?

Thanks
