Need some help with the Sys Tray Area I Think

Ok, stick with me here for a second because I don't know a lot of specific terms for things lol....ok heres the deal

Is there a way for me to have the little icons that are normally in the bottom left of the Vista desktop on my theme I currently have loaded?

The icons I am talking about are down where you normally have your volume control, plus any background programs that may be running...it usually where you clock is located on the default vista desktop.....

hopefully I was able to be clear enough lol...thanks

As far as I can tell, you ARE talking about the SysTray.

However, I'm not sure what "way" you want to have them. Are you using a particular program like Object Dock or DesktopX or ObjectBar and want them displayed or are you just after the actual icons (pictures) themselves?

I want to have them displayed all the time like in the standard windows desktop so I know what programs are constantly running in the background. I am just trying to figure out how to use Object Dock, Object Bar, and Desktop X, I have been at if for about 1.5 days now lol. Hopefully I was a bit more clear here

Object Dock + can do it easily (not on Vista 64bit right now, but soon)

Object Bar & DesktopX can do it as well but you'll need to open Stardock Central and go to "Tools > Settings > General > Enable MCP Notification Area Support" then reboot.

Sorry if I am sounding retarded here, but how do I go about opening "Stardock Central" What is that? Is it a seperate program I have to download, or is it included with DesktopX? Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it

again, what is stardock central? I looked it up, and it seems like it is just a download manager and a piracy protectant

The systray will not work if you are using Vista with DesktopX. Hopefully the tech team will sort this problem out soon.

Thank you very much everyone...but the overall prize of best answer goes to.......:rumroll::......GEF....again, thanks a bunch everyone, but I believe that Gef has spelled it all out for me now...I have to wait until the Stardock people update DesktopX to be more compatible with Vista before I can use the Systray feature
