I Could Never Be a Vegan

I Could Never Be a Vegan

At least I don’t think I could. Because that would mean giving up what I like to eat, meat, although most of the times I eat chicken, but once in a while I like to eat red meat. I try to eat liver often, because it’s good for me with the iron it provides and which I lack, so says my doctor last year. I have no idea if that has improved, and I have not been taking vitamins! I think I better start doing that ASAP!

I do like to eat vegetables and healthy foods and I do know doing so does not a Vegan make me, however, from what I’ve seen on television, at the movies, and read in books, magazines etc., that means also being careful what you put in your mouth, making sure they are not by-products of meat (if I’m wrong about that, enlighten me!). That I would find hard to do. I don’t even count my calories (although I do watch my food intake – I eat anything I want but not too much of it!), how would I be able to keep an eye out for all the details in every ingredients I eat?!

Does being a Vegan means not wearing fur? Not that I own any, at least not any more! I had one piece, a mink shawl; I gave it away when I moved from NY. But I also had pocketbooks and coats lined with real animal hair, was that cruel of me I wonder? I don’t have those anymore, given away too. I do still however, own a couple pieces with fake fur, so I guess that’s not so bad! And I really don’t like the stories I hear of what is done to animals to get their furs, I’m not a supporter of that at all!

Being a Vegan seems to be quite a responsibility. Not that us carnivores don’t take responsibility for what we eat, despite what some people think PETA)! There are those of us who do care enough about the world around us and try to make changes to make it a better place!

I was actually watching a reality show and that brought on this thinking. The Two Coreys on A&E. I loved watching those two guys when they were younger and was curious as to what they were doing now. Corey Feldman and his wife are Vegans and everything they do seem to revolve around being Vegans.

I might consider being a Vegan, but not at the expense of my meat!

I'm the type of guy who will eat wings for an appetizer, steak for the main course and ribs for dessert.

! Chris, I believe you!

I didn't work my way to the top of the food chain to just eat vegetables".

Cute!lol!

eeeeeeww *runs for the hills

Gives Zydor a wedgie!!

I couldn't do it full time, though. I'm trying to drop some serious poundage for starters, so even cheese is off limits for the next few weeks.

Me neither! Like I said, I do eat vegetables, love to eat vegetables, I just can't eat only vegetables! And yep, that's the fastest way to weight loss, along with exercising!

Do they sell those? I would love one.

That is a cute phrase isn't it?!

The lovely goat we barbecued Saturday was killed and cleaned by my Cabrito Chef with assistance from me. Did it disturb me when we were skinning it out? Nope! I knew how good it was going to taste. And it did.

As I mentioned on JU Trivia, sounds yummy!

Too much red meat gives me migraines, makes me feel loagy, and is just overall unpleasant. I feel my best when I'm not eating too much of the stuff.

It's never good to have too much of anything! That's a lesson we all learn at one time or another.
