Will price cuts for Playstation 3 result in increased sales?

Was this enough to get people to start buying?

Time to ask the obvious question of whether or not the newly announced price drop for the Playstation 3 is enough to convince you to run out and buy one, or do you still consider the box too expensive and/or not needed?

The price drop for the PS3 moves me from "Not in a million years, buddy" to "maybe if they release incredibly good games and I don't already own a Wii and a 360 and Sony kisses my butt as an apology."

I'm not buying a Ps3, but the price drop will initially move serious units (Sony is thinking it may increase sales up to 50%) for a short amount of time.

I think Microsoft smells the blood in the water and they'll probably counter with some sales move within the next few months to prepare for the holiday season.

I'm just happy Nintendo is no longer a distant third place in the console wars.
