Microsoft Updates Windows Live Messenger Beta

I recieved the usual notification letting me know there was a new update available on my Windows Vista machine, so I expected it to be some security update, but not today. It seems to be an update for the Windows Live Messenger beta, but it doesn't actually change anything in WLM. It appears Microsoft is preparing WLM to accept updates through Windows Update and this update is a distribution test.
The update states: "This update is being used to test how Microsoft Updates are distributed for Windows Live Messenger. While there are no actual changes to Messenger at this time, it's important for Messenger Beta testers to receive this update. Thanks for helping test Messenger!"
So if you are using the latest WLM beta it seems Microsoft is encouraging you to update, so have at it.
