I went over to Appleby's for dinner. There were two bartenders working, one I know and a new one. I spent some time chatting with the new one and found her rather cute and interesting.

At some point in our conversation she mentioned her father's age. He's the same age I am. Shit.

I am definitely old now.

Dang it. At least, they didn't ask if you wanted the senior citizens discount. I did that once when I worked at Hardee's in high school, asked if someone had a "Golden Buckeye" card and they were super offended - oops. When you're a teenager, everyone looks old. Now it's me.

It could always be worse. You could be her grandfather's age. Anyways you're not old you just have more life experience.

Ha, I think I know what you mean. In the last month, I've had three guys hit on me. Two when I was down in VA and one here at work. They were AT LEAST my Dad's age. One looked pretty well near ready for a nursing home. I was very bummed. I mean, hey, they could have AT LEAST been my age......... I guess that makes me old too. Certainly, they wouldn't have done this to a 20 year old?

Up North it's very unlikely that a guy would walk across the way to tell a strange woman (that would be me) that he liked how her dress looked on her. I got the strange feeling he was looking at more than the dress.

Maybe,  just maybe,  she found you cute and interesting too,  and is trying to find out your age so she can
gage if you might be interested in her. 

AND, you're at an age most women find appealing in a man,   not a young yahoo that doesn't know have to behave, ect.  and not too old.  Whether ya believe it or not,  I know,  I've been there.

gage if you might be interested in her.

point taken!  I guess I really understand your opinion,  I recently had a twentysix year old hit on me,  I guess he was either legally blind, or else he just likes his women older and overweight....even if i wasn't overweight I'd no way go new that young of a guy!!
