Somehow tonight, you need not know how, I got to listen to a CD full of favorite Italian-American hits. Mama mia, this music is great!!! Tenderness and down home humor mixed with passionate pleas and vows, followed by more of the same all wrapped-up in sweet and soothing melodies...oh, you've been away too long. Trust me on this, folks, go out and get you some immediately. I'm not a paison, but my mom re-married to one when I was 12, and my step dad loved that stuff. A hard workin' man (two jobs all his life), Sunday was his day of rest, and us kids would awake every Sunday morning to that beautiful soundin' music. The Italians have played such a huge part in this country's history. They are a great and freedom loving people, and that's to say brave. Only the brave get to be truly free. It's time for another Italian revival around here. Join me in celebrating these wonderful folks all around us, and get those ol'vinyls a spinnin'. Abundanza and arrive derchi!
